I'm running because we need bold new leadership to tackle the many intersecting issues that South Florida is facing. Miami is my home and painfully, like so many other communities across the country, we are facing a series of social, racial, and economic crises.

In Florida, we are losing so many to COVID-19. Many are still unemployed and are losing their health insurance. Families are being evicted because they can't afford the rent. All this against the backdrop of the looming and existential climate and ecological crisis that Miami-Dade is particularly vulnerable to.

This moment calls for us to have the courage to say enough is enough. This is our home and we will not stand idly by as our communities are ransacked for the sake corporate interests.
